Resumes that Get results

This new course offered through the St. Charles Parish Community Education Department is taught by 20-year veteran résumé writer Gary Michael Smith, formerly the manager of a CareerPro Professional Résumé Writing franchise. In this 2-day, 4-hour course, Mr. Smith will emphasize the need to focus on the applicant’s skills in addition to past jobs, the importance of using key words, the use of appropriate layout and design, and methods of submission. Mr. Smith has held positions with such companies as Lockheed-Martin, Boeing, CACI, eVenture, Northrop Grumman, and the American Heart Association. As a former résumé writing franchise manager, he has written hundreds of résumés for job seekers ranging from minimum wage hourly workers to six-figure salaried professionals. Mr. Smith has lectured to the staff of a New Orleans Employment Office for the Louisiana Department of Labor as well as university students on the topics of skillful résumé writing, methodical job seeking, and effective interviewing techniques.
