Advanced Writing Skills

 

Advanced Writing Skills—Perfecting Your Prose provides guidance for students wishing to enhance their writing proficiency by learning techniques for organizing thoughts into cohesive content for personal use, academic preparation, or for publication of magazine articles or books. The focus of the course centers on conceptualizing topics, writing clearly and succinctly, editing, revising, proofreading, and using various literary devices such as analogies and metaphors.

 

Students are given an invaluable Reading and Reference List for Writers as well as a collection of Writers Conferences, Workshops, and Retreats to help in their continual quest for writing excellence. (Note: The Reading and Reference List for Writers presents suggested supplemental reading and is not a requirement for the course.) Other resources such as Writer’s Digest, Writers Weekly, Poet & Writers, et al. are also revealed.
